Michael and Jennifer met each other about 20 years ago. Mike was Jennifer's first serious boyfriend and her first love. After dating for four years, coupled with being so young, Jennifer and Mike eventually went their separate ways. After many years apart, Mike and Jennifer were reunited in 2018. Mike asked Jennifer for a second chance and Jennifer agreed. She opened her heart and let him in... and just like that, it was like they were never apart. Jennifer claims that she realized almost immediately that Mike was the one she was always meant to be with.
I met Mike and Jennifer through their friend from high school and photographed their engagement session at their wedding venue, The Gavi Estate in Forsyth.
Mike and Jennifer's gorgeous spring wedding was incredibly emotional and was a beautiful celebration of two families joining as one. Their ceremony space was filled with southern charm, including big white doors and ferns. They also incorporated a braid in their ceremony which was a testament of God's presence in their marriage and their life.
Jennifer and Mike's first look was so sweet and brought tears to both of their eyes (uh, mine too). I love that they spent quiet, quality time together before their ceremony and got to soak in the realness that God's plan brought them together once again.
A few favorite moments from their special day:
1. Mike's daughter was very emotional walking down the aisle and it really choked me up.
2. Mike's son came running down the aisle and yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" which made us all laugh!
3. Mike danced his way down the aisle after they were married!
4. Mike and Jennifer danced to Perfect by Ed Sheeran for their first dance and that line "we were just kids when we fell in love..." -- oof. My heart.
5. The whole party crashed our night time photo session!
6. After we came back inside from some night time shots, Jennifer danced with her father and step-father which was SO much fun to watch! Then, one of Jennifer's friends rubbed her feet because she was dancing so hard. :)
